DAY 2

We spent the night in Williams, AZ. Town looks like the town in Cars. Arrived at Canyon about 7. Dropped off Orion for a seven hour walk into the canyon. The canyon guide said it should take nine to twelve hours, he did it in seven. Susan and I road a shuttle and hiked around the rim. Again, unbelievable beauty and grandeur, pictures did not do it justice. Saturday was a great day. Started out around freezing, but warmed up. There is a picture with me and two hand warmers on my nose, it is real. Enjoy the pictures, send us a message on the blog if you choose. I will post the picture as soon as they upload. These are only my pictures, Susan has not edited her's yet. She is sleeping as I write this. Orion has hike 30 plus miles through Monday, we have hiked 8 plus, so she is rightfully tired and it is 11. Tomorrow is Bryce Canyon and three foot snow drifts and a three hour hike into the canyon we all took. Hopefully pictures and details soon.
In these pictures you can see the trail Orion took, and much of the western end of the canyon that was new to me. Orion's camera needs a cord to download and we left it at home, hopefully I can post them later. After today almost all of the pictures are Susam's, my camera just was not working well.

Day 1

We arrived late into Phoenix, gone a hotel in town got up early and arrived Grand Canyon mid-morning. Easter crowd was shocking big. We dropped Orion off for a walk down South Kaibab trail and Susan and I went on an adventure on the overlooks toward the East entrance. Great day after slow start. If I can get them posted enjoy the picture. We all agree spectacular sites, pictures and words do not do the Canyon justice. Click on the picture to see the other pictures. The first are mine, the second is Susan's. Access to good internet is rare, I am posting this on Monday. I hope to get Sat., Sun, Mon. posted soon.
